Both AdSense and AdWords are great tools for webmasters. They both work together by getting users ads to be displayed and users websites for ads to be displayed.
AdSense is a system created by Google to let website owners make money by advertising other websites on their web pages. The ads displayed on your site is deternined by keywords that would be relevant to the content of your website.
Ex:
- Let’s say you have a website about guitar lessons, relevant ads to be placed on your website would be about guitar, guitar lessons, music, etc.
AdWords is, as part of the same system, a way for website owners to advertise on other webmaster’s website. It also appears along side or above the results on Google.com search results pages.
Ex:
- Let’s say a user type ‘guitar’ in google.com seach box, the user gets the google’s results page about guitar and chances are that your guitar lessons’s ad will be displayed on the rigth or top of the page while the other websites will be displayed at the normal location of the results page.
- That same user get on a guitar site that is Adsense enabled…, again, chances are that your ad will be displayed on that website.
